EMOTION OCEAN [Release]: Emotions In The body

In order to navigate our emotions, we must ride out the nervous system waves within our body. After a wild animal is safe from a threat, their system ‘shakes off’ the excess energy supplied to escape or survive the experience. When we don’t allow our system to do the same, the energy of the stress or trauma is stored in our body’s memory centers (versus our cognitive brain centers). Releasing this energy from the body allows our mind to be in a more relaxed state to process any reasoning or feelings we’ve packaged around it. In the Emotion Ocean we learn to release our emotional waves from past and present stress through the body; preparing our brain and nervous system to receive and accept change.

THE WILD SIDE: Diving deep into our emotional waters means learning to swim, and that means learning to breathe. Often getting through the shorelines of our island can be the hardest part. The shoreline represents the boundaries we make with ourselves and others, this sometimes means we put up walls. Rigid or rocky boundaries can make it difficult for us to access our emotions, but soft sandy boundaries can quickly eat away at our shoreline. Be curious and ask yourself what your shoreline would look like on Ego Island, in the most vulnerable place on your map. Do they wash away when another person’s storm rolls in? Are the cliffs too high to jump in?


Eight main attractions make up the Human Hangover® map. These spaces guide us through developing a communication network within our inner landscape, so we can be conscious creators of our outer world. By using nature as a source of connection, we can pull on the familiar experiences of our physical senses, the symbolism and wisdom of mother nature, and create a personalized guide for our unique nervous system signature.

After completing an area on the map, specific information gathered at that location is then added to your Human Hangover® Remedy. By the end your remedy will be a step-by-step, personalized guide for that specific emotion or area of focus. This can be especially helpful to reference while trying to maintain longterm balance. When that emotion situation comes up or is triggered in the future, you’ll have a customized guide on how to work your body and mind through it together.

Remember to set-up a healthy support system and have medical professionals in place before diving in. Exploring unprocessed emotions can be overwhelming or cause mental and physical fatigue. Have a personal plan in place to help you navigate heavy feelings or experiences that may arise, in a safe and healthy way. Above all- be open, be curious, and have fun!
